My name is Lindsay Cavner. I live in Colorado Springs, CO and practice holistic health coaching as well as occupational therapy. I am passionate about seeing people gain back their health despite the confusing health information out there today. I have been studying wellness and nutrition for 15 years, as I found a connection in my work as an Occupational Therapist with young children and how their nutrition really played a role in their ability to progress in their OT goals. After graduating in 1999 from Columbia University with a Masters in Occupational Therapy, I ventured into the field of pediatric feeding and helped children with all sorts of disabilities learn to strive in their nutrition rather than the “failure to thrive” label that they were referred to me with.

Since then, I have had a more personal journey with nutrition and healing when my daughter Avery was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 26 months following her MMR vaccination in October of 2009. Through this difficult time of learning to help my daughter live a healthy life with a chronic disease, I began to see my passion evolve into helping others (family, friends and acquaintances) to live a healthy life and helping them to learn to be their own advocate for wellness. In 2009, I also was diagnosed with ileitis which is similar to colitis but in the small intestine. Through personal study in my diet and lifestyle choices, I have fully recovered from this diagnosis.
I went on to receive my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
